About the artists who designed the art for the Veterans Commemorative Medallion

Kim Behm

Kim is responsible for the artwork on the Sullivan Brothers.  Kim was born in 1949 in Des Moines Iowa.  Kim is the son of William Behm , an artist who spent most of his career in Des Moines.  Kim has a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Fine Arts from the University of New Mexico.  He has exhibited as a graphic artist and painter for over 30 years.  Kim has worked as an illustrator for Hellman Associates in Waterloo since 1979.  Kim has received numerous awards from the Society of Illustrators in New York and various advertising groups and trade publications.  Kim is married to Gretchen Behm and they have two children, Marit and Jon.

Lennis Moore

Lennis is responsible for the artwork of the Iowa State Capitol Building.  Lennis was born in 1950 and he currently resides in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.  Lennis is currently the CEO of the Midwest Old Threshers.  Lennis received is BA in Art Education from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.  Lennis has exhibited as a printmaker and illustrator for many years.  He is a member of the Midwest Printmakers Association.  Lennis is married to Sandy Moore and they have 3 children, Luke, Ben & Catie.
